Sinem Aslan is Associate Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Historical Studies at University of Milan. Her research focuses on pattern recognition, computer vision, and machine learning, with a recent emphasis on using computational methods to analyse fine art and cultural heritage. She has published several works on the visual analysis of ancient coins and the examination of the artistic methods used in paintings. She has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Milano-Bicocca and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where she later became Assistant Professor and participated in the EU Horizon 2020-funded RePAIR (Reconstructing the Past: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics meet Cultural Heritage) project.
