Miriam Franchella graduated in Philosophy from the University of Milan and obtained her doctorate there in the same discipline. First a researcher, then an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy, she is now a full professor in the Department of Historical Studies. During her time at the Department of Philosophy, her studies were devoted to the history and philosophy of mathematics and logic, with a focus on 20th century Dutch intuitionism. In this regard, she published numerous articles and books on L.E.J. Brouwer and A. Heyting, the founders of the aforementioned current of philosophy.
She is currently conducting research in the field of the history of science in the 20th century, in particular on the influence of advertisements for psychotropic drugs on their dissemination in Italy.
